About

Ted is a very skilled piano technician and is passionate about his work. Formerly, he was a professional musician, playing keyboards.  After years of gigging, traveling, and playing for weddings, Ted began to look forward to settling down, preferably in New England.

Shortly thereafter he met a fellow keyboard player, who also had a piano tuning and repair business.  He spoke highly of the Piano Technology program at the North Bennet Street School in Boston, so Ted decided to enroll. The school turned out to be just what Ted was looking for.  He really enjoyed the prospect of  working with his hands and ears, learning the trade.

Upon graduating from North Bennet in 1987, Ted worked for several piano stores in the Boston area.  Then he went on to start his own business to service his own clients, which included many churches, schools, and homeowners in the vicinity.

When high speed internet was beginning to become popular, Ted began a Macintosh computer consulting business.  In 1997, he partnered with a colleague and continued to run his business, All Macintosh Service, for the next 12 years. But he had not forgotten his skills as a piano technician and continued to tune for friends and relatives.  Eventually, Ted realized he could transition back into the piano trade.

In the fall of 2021, Ted decided to sell his Waltham home of 32 years and move to a more rural area.  He moved to the beautiful town of Pepperell, Massachusetts, in the vicinity of the Nashoba Valley, about 50 miles north of Boston.
